It’s my birthday today! Will you celebrate with me?
Yesterday I was 40 years old … and today I am 41!
On my birthday, I can’t help but reminisce that it’s been 20 years since I made my first trip to Ghana and was inspired to start Framework International. And this year, we are building our 10th school for the rural village of Hasowodze.
Here I am, a 21-year-old Linfield College student, on my first trip to Ghana.
Your partnership in Framework International is an amazing gift to me and to the thousands of children who now have a safe and sturdy school building in which to learn!
Today is my 41th birthday! Will you please celebrate with me by making a gift of $41, $82, or $123 in honor of my 41th year?
This donation can be a special gift or perhaps you will consider making it a monthly recurring gift of $41 for my 41 years.
And here's a great present! Just for my birthday, a special FI friend will donate $100 for every new friend who commits to any online monthly gift over $15!!! That means your donation will have extra impact! It's really easy to sign up for a recurring gift – donate online and select recurring gift. It's that simple! |
When you support Framework, nearly 100 percent of your gift will go directly toward our mission of empowering Ghana’s youth through the building or renovating of its schools. Not a lot of organizations can deliver that. But we can, because we are a volunteer-run nonprofit with a board dedicated to the fulfillment of our mission.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for celebrating my 41st birthday with me!
Yours in empowering Ghana's youth,
Seth Prickett, Founder and Board Member
P.S. I really appreciate you celebrating my birthday with me by giving a special gift to Framework. Most of our schools were built when a community joined together to make special gifts like $41. Thank you for being a part of the Framework family, and for empowering Ghana’s youth through your partnership.
Hasowodze Build Update
The rainy season, which halts construction for a period of months, was late this year, but now the skies are blue again, and our Ghana team is ready to get back to working on this community’s school!
This dilapidated structure will soon be replaced with a brand new, and SAFE, school building as funds allow. Right now, we have $6,500 left to raise to finish this build, and we appreciate your partnership in making it happen!
The roof is going up on the new school building before the rainy season halted work.

Ghana Baskets for Sale
Special thanks to volunteers Kathy and Chris, and to board member Alan and his wife Pam who sold Ghana baskets at the Helvetia Lavender Festival. Ken Prickett (Seth’s father) oversees basket fundraising, and HUGE thanks goes to him for volunteering his time to make it all happen. Not only did he set up, volunteer, and then take down our booth at the lavender festival, he did the same thing up on Mt Hood at a Meadows festival a day later! He’s a basket selling beast! These high quality and beautiful baskets, made by Ghana women and imported to the US, raise around $4,000 a year for Framework. Do you have a basket? If not …
You can find Ken selling baskets most Wednesdays at the Forest Grove Farmers Market, and they can be found year-round at the Helvetia Farm Store on West Union Road and Bennett's Coffee on 3rd and Main in downtown Hillsboro.
Volunteers Chris and Kathy (who happens to be the mom of FI board member Jonathan).

Garden Party – Save The Date!
Save the date for our annual Garden Party on Sunday, September 17 from 3 to 6 pm at the home of State Rep. Jeff Reardon and Annette Mattheson in Portland, Oregon. More details coming in August … but get ready to once again enjoy some Ghanaian food and music and get an update on Framework. Not to mention our ever-so-popular silent auction items to bid on and Ghanaian baskets for purchase. It’s a fun event you don’t want to miss! I wonder if Seth and Grace will dance again this year? If you come, and buy a basket or two, I bet they will!

Framework International has a history of building schools in Ghana since 2004. Today, nearly 3,000 Ghanaian children are joyfully able to attend school because they have a Framework built or renovated school in their village.
