Akwakwaa Primary School

Our third school project brought us together with our Ghanaian building partner, the nonprofit: Building for the Future Generations (BFG). Akwakwaa is a farming village located on the Bawjuase Nkwata road, roughly a 35 minute drive from Agona Swedru.

Akwakwaa's school structure was dilapidated and substandard – the walls were breaking down and the roof was made of dried palm fronds. The school was in this state of disrepair for over seven years! According to Akwakwaa's teachers, there was no school at all when it rained. Framework replaced the old structure with a brand new nine classroom school block. The school now serves over 350 students.
